Question: Metallica's new album;-Someone told me it's like their older stuff, what's your opinion!?

Quite heavy but nowhere near their first few albums!. The guitar sound can be compared to those of the "Black Album" but sounds a little "cleaner" or a little less distorted!. The riffing is fast - somehow close to their speed metal roots and some riffs sound a bit dark because they used quite a bit of harmonic minor scale!.!.!.I've never been fond of Lars' drumming but it sounds somewhat like those from the "And Justice For All" era!.!.!.Hammett's guitar solos still sounds like Hammett's solos!.!.!.Heavier and more complex than the "Black Album" and a hell lot better than the albums which followed the self-titled one!.!.!.The Unforgiven III has a piano intro!.!.!.Hetfield's vocals stuck in the load-reload-st anger era - not as powerful as before (in my opinion)!.!.!.
After several listens, it gave me the impression that they want to combine the speed riffing of "Kill Em All" in certain songs, the complexity of "Master Of Puppets" and "And Justice For All" in others, and the "clean" mix of the "Black Album"!.!.!.but for some reasons, the album as a whole is not as catchy!.!.!.but very much a relief from their previous works!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I haven't heard the album, so I can't help with the overall question!. I'll mention that right off!.
A few comments though:
There should be nothing wrong with having Robert Trujillo on bass (regarding the Cliff comment)!. I say "should be" because one would have thought that about Jason Newsted, too, based on Flotsam and Jetsam!. James and Lars totally buried Jason in the mix on every single recording, though, as well as forced him to merely double the rhythm guitar!. That being said, though, Trujillo was motherf*cking awesome with Suicidal Tendencies, and especially with Infectious Grooves!. The only question is whether Metallica have any idea how to use him!.

I seen there new video but i can't think of the name of it cause i lost interest!.It was a waste of my finger energy pushing the channel button on my remote to a video like that!.I like Metallica but the new album/CD isn't what i 'm looking for in Metallica!.I'm used to their in your face Sh** back when they was rough and raw you know Master of puppets,Kill 'em all,Ride the lightning stuff like that!.Now there just getting boring to see and listen to!.After Jason Newsted left, in my opinion they started going down hill fast!.Sorry Metallica fans it had to be said!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
!.!.!.they'll never be the same band that they were on the early albums!.!.!.but I think death magnetic is sort of a return to form for them and fresher sounding than their other recent stuff!.!.!.they are a great american band but I started losing interest after their first 3 albums!.!.!.then they became kind of un even to me!.!.!.you should check it out anyway because nobody can really tell you if you enjoy music except yourself!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Its ok, but not great!. It sounds more like their older stuff, but that they're trying to hard to sound like themselves and it comes off as less than genuine!. the only throwaway track though is Unforgiven 3!. (enough already with the "unforgiven" stuff!.!.!. very old and played out at this point)Www@Enter-QA@Com

its not like their older stuff!. its alot softer and less in your face!. some of the songs sounds like they could have been rejects from saint anger but unforgiven 3 is good!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
