Question: Tips on playing the dobro!?
Just got a dobro, if you could tell me good techniques, songs, etc!. Right now it is tuned in G!. Very much appreciated!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

check out online lessons, there are a bunch of guys playing stuff on youtube, and some lessons as well!.

now, for technique!.
not that much into open G, i do more blues, use open D!.
but, pick a simple song, happy birthday, something really simple, and just work on playing the melody!. find the notes, see where they are compared to the last note, to the next note!.
one big thing with dobro is to dampen the strings, so they are not all ringing!.
lay your picking hand (right) palm across the strings you are not picking, so that you can isolate the notes you want!.
same for above the slide, keep your left hand (i use palm & little finger) against the strings to dampen the notes above the slide!.
