Bachelor of Music Auditions?!

Question: Bachelor of Music Auditions!?
Hi!

I'm a 16 year old student who is currently in grade 12 looking to audition for a bachelor of music in vocal performance in university!. I have never had formal training (I know, you think I'm crazy) but both my music teachers basically told me I have no choice but to go into vocal performance!. I am planning to take lessons in voice, ear training and theory for the next few months!. I have looked at a few different schools and they generally all have a standard of an RCM grade 10 pieces that must be performed!.

What I was wondering is if anyone can:
1!. Tell me if they have gone through a similar audition process before
2!. Let me know how difficult RCM grade 10 vocal pieces are (I have never done the testing)
3!. Let me know if it is possible to learn sufficient amounts of theory in a few months (equivalent to RCM grade 2 rudiments and grade 3 harmonies)
4!. Suggest pieces for me to sing: I have a soprano range (nearing coloratura) from about an D3 to Eb/E6 (without straining)!. I need an Italian aria from before 1750, an aria from an opera, 1 song in English, 1 song in German, 1 song in French, and a 20th century song (Broadway not allowed)!.

Thank you very much, an answer to any one of these questions would be greatly appreciated!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
1!. I went through one!. I did a piece from Schumann's Frauenliebe und Leben!.

3!. Yes!. Get a theory book and get your teachers to coach you!.

4!. Here's some suggestions: For the Italian, anything from 24 Italian Songs and Arias or a Handel opera in Italian!. For the English, solo pieces from Handel's Messiah or Henry Purcell!. For German you are spoilt for choice: Schubert, Schumann, Wolf, Brahms, or Mahler are all great choices (Fifty Selected Songs is where I would start)!. For French, Debussy or you could do something totally unexpected like a Lully opera, and for 20th-century again later Debussy would suffice, or later Mahler, or you could do something like Ancient Voices of Children by Crumb!.

Sorry I can't help you with 2!. but in all those pieces you can surely find something of the appropriate difficulty level with the help of your teachers!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
