Because his music is Great "Art"!. He can be counted amongst off the top of my head, I would say roughly 10(or less)composers, whose music has endured - continued to be listened to, and not only enjoyed but inspired many - for now over 2-300 years or more!.
He's one of those oh so few, monumental geniuses, whose creations have an almost mystical appeal to most that experience them!.
