Metalheads, is Death Magnetic really worth buying?!
Question: Metalheads, is Death Magnetic really worth buying!?
So far I've checked out a few songs and I've heard people say that the album sounds like the 80s Metallica!. From what I've heard it doesn't like thrash metal!. So to the people who have listened to the whole album, is there even one song that sounds like thrash metal and is the album any good!? Www@Enter-QA@Com

Ok so i listened to my roommate's copy and here are my 2 cents!.
This album does show that they are heading back in the right direction from the Load/St Anger Era!. There are some elements of thrash in the album, but it is not really all that good!.
Really the songs are too long for the lack of variety that they contain!. The buildups are boring and and just repeat the same thing over and over!. The lead guitar is uninspiring!. The bass is mixed so low you cant hear it (and thats a shame cause they got one hell of a good bass player now)!. And the drums!.!.!.!. well Lars is most definitely a sub standard drummer and the drums are mixed way to high to be as boring as the beats are!.
So in summation while this could be Metallica's return to form, other bands have taken over this role already!. Lamb of God, Mastodon, Shadows Fall, and others have already taken the torch from Metallica and carried metal farther than they can ever go!. Its time for Metallica to retire!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i just bought a few songs off itunes--personally i think its ok but not great--the heavy riffs are back, the guitar solo's are back, the faster/heavier sound is back but for some reason it couldnt hold my attention--its sounds repetitive, nothing you havent heard before and maybe i outgrew that style of music!.!.but the songs i happily bought are:

It is definately worth buying!. This is their best album since Justice, but it is no where near Thrash Metal!. They lost that ability many years ago!. If you want Thrash, check this out:

ABSOLUTELY!. I've had it since the night it came out and I haven't gone one day without listening to it!. It is up there with their best!.
As for the thrash question, there is a bit of thrash!. A good track for that is "The End Of The Line!."

Spend the 10 bucks you will not be disapointed!. Is it Master of Puppets!? No!. Did Metallica make an attempt to return the their roots!? Yes!. If you like the new TestAmenT and Death Angel offerings then you'll like the new Met one as well!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
There are thrash metal riffs in several of the songs, but no complete song!. My Apocalypse is probably the quickest overall song!. Either way, I'd still recommend getting the album!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
