I want to know honest answers about a beggining of a song I am writting?!

Question: I want to know honest answers about a beggining of a song I am writting!?
This is my first attempt at a song, any answers are welcome I need help I love to sing but I am not a very good song writer and I know it!.

I don't want to lose myself again
I just want to be me
Where do I go from here
I'm lost in my mind again
How do I find a way out
I don't know where I am going
It's going to be a dark adventure
Lost inside my mind

I've been living a lie to myself
Not proud of who I was
I need to stop hiding
In my mind
I've just got to be myself

I have been lost for years
Trying to find who I am
I have looked inside my mind
and finally found who I was
I have been searching for years
and now I have found myself
I will always be proud of who I am

Answers:
that sounds really really great! i love the lyrics! they describe what i'm going through right now completely!. it sort of reminds me of who i am hates who i've been by reliant k!.
but sounds great, i hope you finish it with an ending just as wonderful as the beginning!Www@Enter-QA@Com

to me it sounds more like a story then a song i would suggest using shorter sentences and more metaphorsWww@Enter-QA@Com

another way that you can tell is that theres no rhyming!.!.!.just am and amWww@Enter-QA@Com

I really like it! The only thing I would change at all would be "I've been lying to myself ' instead of I've been living a lie to myself!.
Congrats!. It's good!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think you have locked down the emotion you want to convey!.

The line "I don't want to lose myself again" is powerful and might work well as the first line of a chorus instead of the first line of the song!.

If you really want to get more into song writing I would recommend studying some of the greatest writers!. Flop back in a dark room and just listen to their stories!. I recommend Leonard Cohen, Warren Zevon, Tom Waits, Tori Amos, Lyle Lovett, Greg Duli and Paul Westerberg!. They are great writers and often go against formula!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
