Why do people think commercial rappers like Soulja Boy and Lil Wayne is better than real rappers like The Roots and Lupe Fiasco!? It's so backwards!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I agree with the question, REAL hip hop isn't Soulja Boy and Lil Wayne!. The difference between real hip hop is when artist put their soul and themselves into a song!. When they pay their dues and try to actually work on to improve hip hop!. Real hip hop artist are true musicians!. The problem is you can't educate people on real hip hop because hip hop has expanded to so many different cultures!. And now you have the blood suckers coming out trying to cash in on making catchy songs and dances like Soulja Boy!. What we can do is continue to support those artist that make the good music, buy their CD's, come to their shows, request their songs on the radio to get their message out there!. When it comes down to it those fake artist always drop off and the ones who are true musicians stay!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think what this all boils down to is the following!. You have hip-hop and rap listeners from all walks of life!. Some listeners are impoverished and have certain experiences!.!.!.dare I say it, ghetto!. They want to hear about things that are familiar to them, things that they can feel!.
You have some listeners that are educated, have traveled maybe, have a more vast array of life experiences!. They want to hear about topics that relate to their lives as well!. They want to be able to feel music too!. That doesn't make one style or content area real and the other one fake - it just means that you have musicians from all walks of life, bringing their life experiences into their music, and certain fan bases that those different types of music cater to!.
People that want to hear about the rap that affects the masses, is called "mainstream" because there are more people out there who have limited experiences!. Sadly, it doesn't seem to be that the majority of people want to hear hip-hop that is more philosophical in nature!.
Let's face it - music is a business!. To get major airplay you have to create songs that people of color will feel!.!.!.and where are the majority of our people!? "Coming to a hood near you!."

Be thankful the Lord blessed me with a brain is how I think about it!. Hip Hop is so good because it has tempos and lyrics for different moods!. Personally I like upbeat tracks sometimes other times I want to hear more thoughtful tracks!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
