Answers:
i would recommend a mix of a good guitar pedal and swapping your pickups for some hot or active pickups!. then the sound and note distinction just jumps out of the guitar

EDIT: you could also try changing your strings, if your strings are rusted as well they will produce a choppier sound and your sustain will sufferWww@Enter-QA@Com

It Might be your pick up chord, I had a bad chord and it sounded fuzzy, so I got a new one and it worked for about 2 weeks and they said the speaker on my amp had gone bad!. I would have to hear what it sounded like so then I could give you a better answer!.
I hope this helped some what!.

Is the amp tube!? If not your not going to get the sound your looking for!. I think the line 6 pod is hard to beat for effects verses price!. Check it out!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Do some research on amps and set-ups used by your favorite artists and it should lead you to the sound you want!. Try a Randall set-up those are pretty crunchy and good metal amps!.!Www@Enter-QA@Com
