How do you get a record deal with a big-name label like Nonesuch?!

Question: How do you get a record deal with a big-name label like Nonesuch!?
I'm trying to find a way to get in touch with a big-name record label, such as EMI or Nonesuch, but in today's world, where most recording artists do everything themselves, I am finding it increasingly difficult to get in contact with someone "high-up!." Does anyone know a good way!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Nonesuch is not all that well-known as a label, as it is a classical only label that put out records and CDs by the defunct Elektra Records!.

The best way would be to get heaps of songs recorded, play them live, and get someone like a music industry manager or a lawyer to invite a record company A&R person to come and see you!. If they like your work then they'll bring more people to your gigs, but you've got to do your share of the work promoting yourself too!.

Here's the best way not to get a deal: simply send in a tape or CD or DVD of your work to a label via mail!. It'll get chucked on the shelf and never listened to!. Basically record companies want to find and discover *you*, not the other way around!.

Hope that this advice helps you!.
