What makes you classify a band as untalented?!
Question: What makes you classify a band as untalented!?
any band that has major record label cannot be untalented really can they!? there are so many bands trying to get recognized that are talented that if these bands (nickelback, coldplay, three doors down, etc etc) where really untalented wouldn't they be cut for a band that is talented!? Do you classify as untalented because you don't like their music!? or because everyone else says they are untalented!? or is it because your jeleous of their success!? its not they are lip syncing the lyrics and have tapes playing instuments and they are just standing on stage acting!.!.!.that would be untalented

I think that everyone in the planet has talent!. There is something call expiriance and that is what a lot of band don't have and one of the reasons that people judje them a lot!. Let's take a look at the Jonas Brothers, I think that they have talent, but at this moment they don't have that much expiriance, and when they get it they would be older and probably lose all of their fans that only cared about their looks!. ( i like them, but i'm not in love with them ok)
If the sound of a band is different thant what you ussually listen to, of course you're gonna say that they are untalented, like my friend that says that Chris Brown has talent, i laugh and say that he doesn't!. But if i'm not famirilized with the genre i don't think i should judge!.
You shouldn't clasify a band as untalented just because your opinion!. If you really want to prove something than use real facts like the music schools that they greduated from, or the average of numer of albums that they sold etc!.!.!.
Everyone has talent, keep what you like, and don't say crap about things that you don't like!.

Edit: I love Bon Jovi, and whoever said that about them is going to pay!. I want to see you Play the Drums like Tico Torres or play Guitar like Richie Sambora!. They are one of the best selling bands in american rock!. In the morning i had to write a small report on a famous person that most adults should be like and i picke Jon Bon Jovi!. You are Horible!.

Well,first of all,the popularity and a major record label deal of a band is not an indicator of their talent, it just means that they're giving the public(the market) what it wants,which means that they're selling,which means that the major record labels will want to sign them up!.
Now,the audience consists mostly of individuals who consume music the same way they consume junk food and couldn't care less about originality,innovation,technical proficiency and inspiration in the music they listen to,they mainly want easy,catchy tunes!.

Nickelback is indeed untalented!. Their lyrics are piss-poor!. They use no metaphor--so what they say is what they mean!. The actual tone of their guitars is so cheesy and overprocessed!. The vocals are that same Eddie Vedder/Chris Cornell ripoff sound that's been around since the 90s!. They are the epitome of suckdom!. And they suck!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Untalented is when they dont go the extra mile of with their talents!.!.!.some bands improve over time but some go backwards and get worst over time!.!.!.i guess u cant really tell until the bands 2nd album comes out, because u cant judge a whole band by one album!.!.!. and just see where the music takes them!.!.!. and also selling their face to unnecessary products can deffinetly damage a bands reputation FAST!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
People rip into Nickelback all the time and i dont understand why!. If people call them untalented they dont have a clue, some of there songs are quite challenging to play at times!. I agree with Sailing Outdoors, but I actually like one of the bands you listed (3 Doors Down)!. They're the only band that's closest to mainstream I listen to!.

This is, of course, a matter of opinion!.
I suppose the new music these days is easy to listen to, and it's "catchy"!. But I suppose you would have to understand that some of the listeners don't have any real personal preference or taste in music!.
It's usually not a label or popularity issue with me, it's just the crap they call talent!. And why untalented (in my opinion) bands get signed!.!.!.They probably have something that sells!. Something that sells does not mean it is good and/or talented!. It's a bit like clothing trends!. And so it's a financial thing more than pure love for making good music!.
And honestly, I listen to Coldplay and I enjoy it; I think it's pretty good music!.
You know, in the end, good music or bad, it's all based on opinion and you can't technically MEASURE how good a band is in any way!. Everything is opinionated, and you can't say that it isn't!. There is no overruling judge!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Most bands do have talent, but maybe marginal talent but then they have the charisma/looks that will appeal to the masses and thats what gives them the music deals over other "talented" bands
I dont think your analogy with professional athletes is totally warranted!. Athletes make it pretty much soley on athletic abiliity where as the top bands aren't necessarily the best musicians
btw, whoever said Sebastien Bach doesn't have a good voice, he may not be your style, but he was on Broadway for a few years in a top role, i believe in Jesus Christ Superstar!.!.!.so it can't be that badWww@Enter-QA@Com

i, personally, don't find much joy in any band that has mediocre/poor vocals!.
boys like girls, all time low, mayday parade they all have great vocals and guitar parts and every one of there songs has a catchy or up-to-beat tune!.
