I think if you put Radiohead into the BritPop movement - which their early stuff definitely was (although I've heard the argument that Creep was a grunge song - just a little late to the party) - then the argument is very close!.
Both seemed to be reactions!. BritPop was a reaction to the staleness of the English rock/pop scene, whereas grunge was a reaction to glam and hair metal!. Both brought a much-needed @$$kick to the Rock genre!. Both have also been invaluable influences on the music that I listen to today - even if they did both cause the alternative rock explosion that lead to the wasteland that is popular Top 40 rock music of the 90s and today!.
So my answer - I actually tend to like more grunge bands (and those that get lumped together with the movement that was primarily based out of Seattle) whereas I'm pretty limited in terms of the Britpop I enjoy (can't stand Oasis, Blur has some good stuff, but sort of petered out, love Radiohead, and the Smiths are great as well)!. So, I'm going to have to disagree!. I'm rather prejudiced though - I fell in love with "Nevermind" in grade school and haven't looked back since!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Nope!. No way Oasis beats Nirvana!. Britpop didn't really change anything!.!.!. I mean it was great and all but it didn't change rock like grunge!. Grunge completely ushered back in good music, not hair metal crap!. If it wasn't for Grunge we americans probably wouldn't even know who oasis or blur were!. That being said Blur is one of my alltime fav bands!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
