Unless you really can't carry a tune in bucket, you've already got some relative pitch!. You just need to develop it!. Just humming a note to your self and then finding it on a piano (or whatever instrument) will get you started!. From there hum intervals and try to guess them!. When you've done hundreds of those, have someone else give you a pitch and interval and work you way toward matching them!.

!.!.!. very quickly you'll start getting really good at determining intervals (at least within an octave)!.

Absolute pitch!. Whatever !.!.!. it I think it's over rated!. I can generally guess a pitch on the first or second try and I certainly don't have "absolute pitch!."Www@Enter-QA@Com

Relative pitch is something that you can work at!. What helped me was to associate different melodic intervals with parts of certain songs!. Sort of a mnemonic technique, I guess!. Harmonic intervals are a bit trickier, but it can be done!.

As for perfect pitch, theoretically it can be learned!. I have a collection of CDs to a course to learn perfect pitch, but since I haven't had the time to try it seriously, I couldn't say if it actually works or not!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

its relative pitch, not related pitch!. also, you can't "get" either pitch, since you're either born with it (perfect pitch), or you develop it (relative pitch)!.

relative pitch can be developed by doing excercises such as solfege (where you sing the notes without the help of any tool) or just by practicing music!. there are solfege books you can buy and teach yourself with!. you can also take solfege classes, maybe at a music camp or school!. most musicians develop relative pitch naturally just by practicing their everyday music because the pitches become imprinted in your mind!. so if you want relative pitch, then just practice your instrument (im assuming you play an instrument/sing or else what would the point be!?)Www@Enter-QA@Com
