I love both of them!.
And I'm having trouble comparing the two--they sound nothing alike to me, opposite ends of the rock spectrum as far as vocals go!. This decision isn't really as easy as pitting Jagger's vocals against Steven Tyler's!.
So I consider both among my favorites--in both vocals, talent, and meaning (as far as songs go)--but in completely different ways!.
Though, if I were to make a decision, I would probably go with Lennon as he was in "Happiness is a Warm Gun"!. EDIT: Actually!.!.!."Don't Let Me Down" may be the best example of Lennon's vocal talents!. As far as I can think of at least!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

They both suck!. I think most of you answering this question are really saying "I like John Lennon and the Smashing Pumpkins suck!." I agree!. But serioulsly, Lennon was a terrible singer and could not carry a tune at all!. Corgan's voice is annoying as hell, but he could still "sing" better!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
Lennon!. No contest!. He was so unimaginably innovative and unique and talented and brilliant that no one could compare to him!. I'm not a huge Pumpkins fan and I understand, Corgan was an influence on alternative music but, he's just not comparable to John Lennon!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

hmm!.!.!. as a huge fan of both the beatles and the smashing pumpkins, i don't think there is a better singer!. the better overall musician would be john but their sounds are too different to compare!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
