Well John Lennon first had a band called the Quarrymen (They went to Quarrybank school!.!.!.)
But they eventually called themselves The Silver Beatles!. They picked the beatles part because they loved Buddy Holly, and his band was named the crickets!. So they wanted to stick with the bug theme!.!.!.and they spelled it with an ea instead of an ee because a the local newspaper was called the Mersy Beat!. And they thought it would be interesting to be the beatles instead of the beetles!. also because the word beat has to do with music!.!.
One night when the Silver Beatles were doing a show, John saw the poster that read "Tonight Only: The Silver Beatles", and he took a sharpie, and crossed out the word Silver!. He just didn't like it!.

Modest Mouse got their name from the Virginia Woolf story "The Mark On The Wall"!. The line says "I wish I could hit upon a pleasant track of thought, a track indirectly reflecting credit upon myself, for those are the pleasantest thoughts, and very frequent even in the minds of modest mouse-coloured people, who believe genuinely that they dislike to hear their own praises!." Farkus: from Flordia!. They had a different name (not sure what it was, but lets call it TATORS) at one time!. Well, they all realized he wasn't compatable with the band so they kicked him out!. So he decided to go & pay lots of money to get the first name copyrite (TATORS) so they couldn't continue it!. So they decided to name the band FARKUS, which is the guys last name!. And he can't do anything about it!.!.

Relient K was named after guitarist Matt Hoopes Reliant K car but they spelled it with an E to avoid copyright infringement!. When they found out that that wouldn't be a problem they kept it like that anyways!. :]
