As far as I know, Michael Anthony wasn't exactly kicked out of Van Halen!. After a while, he just became a less prominent figure in the band and in their music!. For some reason, he started participating less in their albums!. He was always kind of a quiet family man, and he cared a great deal for his wife and children!. This may be a contributing factor to why his role began to wane!. The other members also may not have been pleased that he was doing hot sauce advertisements!. I don't think he was ever really on bad terms with any of the musicians, but apparently for the band's reunion he was not invited back and instead was replaced by Eddie's son Wolfgang!.
I don't know much about the Sammy Hagar situation, but he wasn't invited to the reunion either!. He and the other band members had a lot of arguments and confrontations, it's hard to tell exactly what happened!. It's very possible that rather than being fired he quit, and Roth came back!. Then even after Roth left Van Halen again, Hagar still didn't return, and they hired Gary Cherone as singer!.
