My mama said to always follow my dreams
when i was going to Middle School
I wanted to fit in and be cool
so i smoked but it made me look like a fool
Then there was a n***a named james
I will always remember his name
That was the year i made my mother in shame
I started killing people and i was in a gang
My gun was always going off and my mama was scared of that thing
when my sister was tryin to learn how to sing
I needed to get a career
my dad wasn't supportive always drunk off beer
had to get a job in the closet sears
Im lucky that i lived with a roof over my head
those things i saw i wish i hadn't had
after college i was starting to get sad
I got really depressed
