ok u asked if there is a maximum age for starting to play musical instruments im gonna smack u and ask u is there a limit to learn!?pls for god's sake STOP these type of questions!.!.!.yes no doubt that starting later gives u less advantage over the young ones!.!.!.but everywhere u look there are ppl who started something late and became gd at it!.!.!.take me for example!.!.!.im learning the violin and the piano now!.!.!.im learning Japanese also!.!.!.so whats keeping u from learning new stuff!?who ever said u can't teach an old dog new tricks!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
No there is not!. Sometimes it is only harder for older people to learn because of time commitment!. But if you try hard and really want to you can!. also natural talent always helps some!. But I have seen people of the same age that I personally taught and one did a lot better than the other just because she was more serious about learning!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Well, I'm no spring chicken, but I'm planning to take up oboe soon - an instrument I've always wanted to play! Admittedly, I've played other instruments - but - well, oboe is a whole new ball-game!.!.!.but the passion's there, may as well go for it!
My personal philosophies are "you're never too old" and "do it before you die!.!.!." profound, huh!?

You can learn to play anytime, but it becomes much harder to become proficient once you hit 12, and very very hard when you hit 40Www@Enter-QA@Com
I'm pretty sure there isn't any maximum age to start playing an instrument but it's preferable to learn at an early age so your skills develop and are integrated further!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
No, but by the time you are an adult, it becomes a bit harder!. Our brains aren't as flexible as a child's!. But, look at BB King!. He didn't start until he was over 40!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
