Question: Fender Telecaster American Deluxe Broken Headstock!?
Last month my Tele was involved in a accident which snapped the headstock clean off neck near the nut!.
I am planning to get it repaired but will it be cheaper to get it repaired or buy a new neck (a real Fender 1 obviously)Www@Enter-QA@Com

The latest " owners '' of Fender Musical Instruments have funny company policies!. I, too wanted to replace a neck on my Telecaster, and so I went to the Fender dealer where I purchased it!. In my case, I did not have a broken neck!.!.!.!.!.!.!.I just wanted to switch to a "thinner" neck!. He called out to CA, and was told that Fender doesn't really like to send out new necks, and anyhow, at that time, they had none!.
They kind of have a point, but then they kind of don't!.
Fender Guitars are made to have replaceable parts, which was one of their selling points in the early years!. Yet, not all necks fit all guitars properly!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. to the point of offering a great "FIT" and also providing proper intonation !. There are variations in necks, variations which may prevent the neck from fitting into the body notch properly, thus causing the 2 problems that I mentioned above!.
I will be quite honest with you, though!. The owner of the store that I visited told me that the Fender spokesperson said!. " We don't like to ship out replacement necks ( in my case, just for switching one for another ) because they don't always fit right!." However, he then told me that the guy on the phone said!.!.!."However we do make exceptions in the case of a broken neck!.!.!.!.!.!.!.which would render the guitar " unplayable ''!.!. In other words, Fender would not want to see you with a guitar that you cannot play!.
Since I only wanted a new neck that was thinner, and my guitar was not broke, I just figured that I'll let things the way they are!.
If U can't get a new neck from Fender, the company called WARMOTH can sell U something!. However, like Fender necks, be sure to ask what their return policy is if you find that the neck does not fit to your standards!.

It would be cheaper to get it fixed!. But you would want to get a new one!. If you don't have the money, Get it fixed; but if you do have the money, get a new one!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Don't bother with a repair!.It may not result in a desirable outcome!.I would recommend a new or possibly a used neck,usually readily available on e-bay or craig'slist!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
