Question: What's so great about Pink Floyd!?
they seem a tad bit overrated in my opinion!. i've listened to many of their songs but i don't see how people think they are one of the best bandsWww@Enter-QA@Com

I know exactly what you are talking about!. There are always people talking about bands like Pink Floyd and The Beatles all the time here!. Many of the popular bands that are talked about around here are bands that I really don't care for to be honest!. I have my own style of listening to music!. My favorite bands are not bands that most people would consider as the greatest bands of all time!. That is what makes me original!. I am not afraid to be different!. Good question!. You deserve a star!.

They are a good band, and every good band that gets successful gets to be overrated!. I like listening to them, and for me it doesn't matter if others like listening to a particular musician or not, if I like it then that's all I care about!. If you don't like them, that's fine!. You are entitled to your opinion, but don't bash them just because they are popular!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

I can not possibly write enough here to answer your question!.!.!. there has never been a band like them in Rock musically, lyrically, or intellectually!. They are in the rarified air of an original!.!. there are so few in music!. Most bands would love to have one seminal record!.!.!. by my count Pink Floyd has released six!.!.!. I am sure that LSD had something to do with it all!.!.!. but they are beautiful albums of expression!.

Their songs can put you into a trance like no other band can do, and they have meaningful and deep meanings!. What's not to like!? Plus, they have a brilliant guitarist!. That never hurts!. They
deserve all the merit they've earned for themselves!.

I remember when they first came out!. !. !.They were so different and so innovative!. Long ago my friend has just bought a new Saab with super speakers!. He wanted to show them off and we sat in the new car and listened to Dark Side of the Moon!. Too cool!. !. !.stereo too!. LOL!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Heh!.Ok!.I suppose you'll need to listen to a whole album by them and not separate downloaded tracks,because that won't work very well!.It's not only the fact that an album by Pink Floyd is written to flow wonderfully from one song to another,it's also that their discography is incredibly diverse,from the psychedelic days with Syd Barett to their concept album and movie "The Wall"(seeing the movie gets you into the album easier IMO)!.They've been active for more than 40 years so to judge them hastily would be a mistake!.
They're one of the most important,influential,innovative,origina!.!.!. and re-inventing themselves bands that have ever existed!.Their lyrics deal with subjects of such a great scale that I have not heard a lot of musicians singing about!.Look more deeply into them--The Dark Side Of The Moon is what got me into the band ,listen to it from start to finish!.

Okay this is my perspective only since they have been my favorite band for 25 years!.!.!.
They aren't afraid to experiment and change up the feel of their music and that makes it fresh to me always!. Every time I listen, I can always hear something a little different in it!. I love the fact that a good many of their works are concept albums and I love lyrics that relay a story!. The guitar work -especially the bass riffs - are excellent!. To my ear, it is the most pleasurable music which is why they are my favorites!.
I respect your opinion, it doesn't get under my skin!. Since music is art, it doesn't affect each of us in the same exact way; you will listen to what appeals best to your ear!.
Edit: People do not have to be on any kind of mind altering substance to like and understand the music of Pink Floyd -I've never used anything and I understand it perfectly well!.
Edit 2: Okay I understand your remark about individuality/originality, but I had all the albums on vinyl before they even broke up - I'm 39 and I grew up on Pink Floyd among other classic rock bands!. I don't care how many other people like or dislike them, I listen for myself and no one else!. That is because you probably havn't REALY listened to them - the music was designed not to be listened to sober people, but takes on an entirely different sound when consuming a hallucinagenic substance - thats the point and thats what is so great about them!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
