Well I played for 6 years!.!.!. and if you heard that lessons are a waste of time!? that they are not, how else are you supposed to learn!? Self teaching is one thing- if your fluent in reading music and can already play another instrument then you may be alright but since Piano is an instrument where its great to practice everyday I'd say lessons are a necessity especially if you are just beginning!. It teaches you proper fingering, theory, scales!.!.!. all of which you need to know and you still remember it years later (I still do)!.
Anyway! Electric Pianos are great (not keyboards oh foul) of just a genuinely good upright- Yamaha is a good brand!. I'm not sure of prices though, check it out on google or yellow pages!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm 14 too and I've been playing classical piano for nearly 7 or 8 years now!. I took private lessons for 6 years, but after that I just never felt like practicing so much, so I quit!. I still play of course!.
I wouldn't recommend getting a piano!. You have to get them tuned a lot and that costs a lot of money!. They also tend to cost more!. I do know a few amazing Yamaha keyboards:

this is the one I have!. It's VERY nice but it took a while for me to get used to!. I still don't know how to work all the functions!. The only thing I have to say that I don't like about it is that there's no music stand!. Otherwise it's phenominal!.
But I just wanted to get the Yamaha YPG-628 (the first link) because I knew how it sounded and it wasn't nearly as expensive!. But when I played a song on the MO-8 I got an applause from everyone else in the store lmao!.!.!.
