Question: I'm embarrassed to let people listen to my mp3 player!.!.!.!?
Well I just turned 13, but ever since last year I've been obsessed with soul and funk music!. Especially 70s and 80s "black" (I'm not saying white people didn't listen to it!) music like Earth Wind and Fire (I know all the words to most of their songs) and I like groups like Con Funk Shun and Brick and Klymaxx, Sade, MJ, The Spinner, etc!.
And of course people think I like rap/ hip hop music since I am half black and I like in the "ghetto" (kids are SOOO stereotypical!!) and I get really embarrassed when they find out whats really on my ipod!.

Oh hun no way, I'm 16 and I have more Soul and Funk on my iPod then you can imagine, if they don't like it!.!.!.They DONT have to listen to it!.
Listen to what you love, what makes you feel good, music's purpose to make you feel what the song is, and if that speaks to you then power too yah babe!.

No i think discos cool, esp earth wind & fire, and i definitely like it more than rap and I would be happy if disco came back and replaced rap as the most mainstream form of music today!. Most ppl probably like this music too but theyre too stuck up to admit because they think everyone else will laugh at them when they dont realize everyone else is just pretending like them!. at least youre not one of these people!. when i was 13, im listening to obscure, un-radio friendly songs released 12 years before i was born, and i get the better of it, having them as the standard my musical preference in the later years have been really good, you still got a long way to go!.
it's all about discovery!. it's not about what generation it was, even if it was from the sixties, and you just heard it, its the same as the one just released yesterday, IT'S NEW TO YOU, its just a question of whether you like it or not!.
