Metallica is one of the few bands to survive the 80's and transition into the alternative scene as a "hard rock" band, my beef with them is their whole Napster downloading complaint!.
Now NIN was intense in the 90's, however disappeared for a while!. The do have a hard rock sound, but it is borderline Cure(ish)!.
Overall, Metallica would likely receive the most votes - and NIN clings to the lead with a death grip!.!.!.
Personally, I think Dead Kennedys, X, Motorhead or Scorpions is WAY above either of the bands you listed!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
