It was desgined to make us stupider!.

B4 the 80's for the most part music was very raw and emotional!. For the lack of a better term the "System" realized that good music opened peoples minds a bit too much and they were harder to control!. So they started to push the marketing monster down our throats music wasn't as important as style, image and glamour!. People started to lose the concept of what music was really about (Opening your mind, soul and third eye)!. All the artists sounded the same in each genre!. But it didn't matter becasue you had to fit in a group or you would become a social outcast!.

I still prefer 80's music & classic rock better than today's music & I can't think of any group of today people will be talking about let's say 10 years from now like they still do groups like the Beatles & Rolling Stones!. Jonas Brothers, give me a break & most of the rock bands will be has been & who was that before you know it!. You may say it's repetitive but it's still better than the crappy music of today & 60's thru 80's is the best music everWww@Enter-QA@Com

Thats a good question!. I have nothing against music from any particular generation, but that seems to happen in many songs, even the current ones! Musicians also have a tendency to "fill in the blanks" with noises, sounds, and made-up words, sometimes (in jazz, atleast) known as "SCAT"!. I'm sorry I dont have a straightforward answer for you, but this kind of repitition is not unique to older music!. I guess it just depends on what the music artist likes, and many of them might have the same idea of what is good, bad, etc!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Good question!. That's probably because that's the easiest part of the song to remember and is the catchy part!.

It can drive you nuts when the song is not very good to hear the chorus over and over again!.

The 80's was very interesting for music!. MTV first came out and many band got exposure that would probably not have if MTV were not around since there we so few places to listen or see new bands!. Maybe it was their way of getting noticied for something catchy!.

I never found 80s music to be repetitive!.

also, I don't know why people insist on giving a decade tag on music!. I mean, does "80's music" mean the Top 40 pop hits from the 80s!? Do people mean Debbie Gibson and Duran Duran and Boy George or do they mean Poison and Motley Crue!? Or do they mean Aerosmith and KISS!? Or do they mean Run DMC!?

Just identify the kind of music you mean with what kind of music it is!. There's tons of kinds of music in every decade!. The 70s gave us The Sex Pistols, Captain and Tenneile, The Village People and Foreigner!. So which of those is 70s music!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

well the repetative lyrics go with the repetitive beat in the background, the beat is down to the fact that around that time they invented like computerised sounds, similar to todays dance music just not as advanced, so it was basically a phase and new invention lolWww@Enter-QA@Com

The only thing I hate about the 80s is Glam!. A lot good Heavy metal bands got thrown in to that glam metal genre!. I don't consider glam heavy Metal!. Glam was just a bunch of backstreet boys with instruments trying to play metal!. Focus on their looks more than the music!. That's why I hate Glam and thank god Grunge killed it!. Sorry that's how I feel!.

Edit: 70s music gave us almost everything from AC/DC, to Aerosmith, Quiet Riot, Kiss even though I don't like kiss!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

That is the nature of most rock/pop music!. Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, BRIDGE/Guitar solo, chorus, title of the song, title of the song, title of the song!.!.!.!.!.!. until it fades out!.

I like it, though!. :-D
