Is it Fair to Say that If you think KRS-One or Rakim...???!

Question: Is it Fair to Say that If you think KRS-One or Rakim!.!.!.!?!?!?
!.!.!.should stop making records cuz they "Old", then the same can be said about a rapper that's been Underground for 20 years and is barely known!.!.!.!?!?!?

Now it has nothing to do with selling records, but in 1995 people were still listening to lyrical Hip Hop!.!.!.

So if you came out before 1998, what is the reason you not known!.!.!.!?!?!?

And I'm not saying that if you're not known then you are not nice, but if you better then let's say, Rakim, you should at least be known by the majority of people!.!.!.

And that doesn't go for new cats that came out after the debacle of Hip Hop!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Krs-One should stop making records not because he's old, but because he's lost it!. 10 albums in a row that have been exactly the same, and each equally bad!.

Rakim though hasn't released an album in a while, but maintains a certain level of hype for that reason, just because he has a few appearances here and there!. He shouldn't retire!.

Here's an analogy though!.!.!.some of the smartest people don't go to college for various reasons!. Some being that they didn't have the resources to develop critical thinking, and then weren't even able to apply to college because they didn't know anything about it, and the colleges didn't know they existed to even begi with!. Does that mean those kids should stop trying to better themselves!? No

And because the underground is so vast, and lyricism today is at a whole other level, there have been people with more complex lyrics than Rakim (that I know about), and then there are people that are lyrically better than Rakim, that almost nobody knows about!.!.!.for many reasons!.

also!.!.!.might as well say why isn't Rakim known to the majority today!? I'd be willing to say that the same amount of people that know about, oh say Blackalicious, know about Rakim!. One is underground, the other is old school!. Both probably have about the same number of fans!.

Edit: I explicitly said NOT because they're old!. You're simply reading what you wanna read!. And I'm curious!.!.!.besides MF Doom, what underground rappers do you have in mind!? Because people like Doom have developed cult followings in the udnerground, and I'd be willing to bet that Doom today has more fans than KRS or Rakim!.

"and this is the only place I see that happening!.!.!." And that's because they've pretty much been forgotten!. Like hnic says, Rakim is no longer relevant, and KRS's wack albums are the reason he should retire, not his age!. They've been forgotten!. Mizz Mixtape said the other day that KRS's concert sold only 12 tickets a week before the day of the actual concert!. Doom is old as hell to, but his best albums have all come within the last 8 years, so why should he stop!? Just cuz' he isn't selling!? You've said it yourself that people don't respect the art in buying Lil Wayne's stuff, so your contradictions in your arguments are what is mind-boggling!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Apathy!.!.!.this is not a clone!. Angel's account was suspended!.

Anyways, to answer your question and my thumbs down fairy, I think this is a valid question in some regards!. I guess the difference is that a rapper like Rakim or KRS has had their time to shine in the forefront, whereas an underground rapper still may have a chance of making it big, even if they've been underground for 20 years!. Some underground artists never wanted to make it big, they wanted to keep their fanbase where it is!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

EDIT: Ok, thats fair, did not know that your account was suspended, my fault for making an accusation

To answer your question yes, if you are still relatively unknown after 20 years of making music you should stop making records!. Positive notoriety does count for something in my book, im not saying that being well known makes you great, just that you are doing something correctly if people know who you are!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Wtf does age have to do with it!?

If your starting to suck, your just STARTING TO SUCK

The year an artist came out doesnt really matter to me
If your running out of material, thats just it

Nada to be dicussedWww@Enter-QA@Com

They're probably not known by many because they are undergroud!. And only a handful of hip hop listeners listen to underground artist!.

Whereas Rakim and KRS are considered legendary and were mainstream in their prime!.

Thats not a fair comparison!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

THEY SHOULD CONTINUE TO MAKE RECORDS UNTIL THEY CANT SPEAK NO MORE!.
AS LEGENDS THEY COULD DO WHATEVER EVER THEY WANT!.
IMAGINE HIP HOP WITHOUT KRS ONE OR RAKIM!.
I CAN'T!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

All rappers who suck!.!.!.should stop making records!.!.!.period!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

'Age dont count in the booth'

But if their lyrics are still relevent as before or better they shouldnt retireWww@Enter-QA@Com

You sound angry, so i'm not touching this one with a ten-foot stick!. *ran inside my bedroom and hid in my closet*Www@Enter-QA@Com

STK!.!.!.!.ur a clown!.

I didnt mean that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think if Rakim released an album today, it'd be nice, and all I think KRS-One needs to do a lot of live shows, save up for some good producers, primo, pete rock, prince paul ect!. and then take his time with writing the album, I think his biggest problem is he doesn't take his time like he did in the 90's, there was 2 years in between Return of the boom bap and Krs-one so I think he should take about that amount of time

The majority of people don't know J-Live and IMO he's nicer than Rakim at this point, but the majority of people don't know who Rakim is, just hip-hop heads!. A big reason J-Live is not known is because he's never sacrificed his artistry at all for mass appeal, KRS-one did a song with Puffy to sell his biggest selling album, I got nextWww@Enter-QA@Com
