How do you count the sharps and flats of a note, in classical guitar music?!

Question: How do you count the sharps and flats of a note, in classical guitar music!?
I am trying to comprehend how to correctly indicate the key signature of a piece!.

So far I know the order of the sharps is:

F#, #C, #G, #D, #A, #E, #B

And the order of the flats is the same but staring from B, so B, E, A, etc!.!.!.

also I've learned the number of flats and sharps in each note!.

# of sharps in each note
C = 0 D = 2 E = 4 F= 6
G =1 A = 3 B = 5

And vis versa for the flats!.

But what B, for example, do you count from, and towards where!? Is it the B in fret 4!? or the B in fret 2!? or the one in fret 12!?

thanks!

Answers:
I think you've already got a good handle on this!.

Major Keys:
Sharps:
For every sharp key signature the note above the last sharp in the signature is the key!.
E!.G!. If the last sharp is a G# the key signature is A; if the last sharp is C# the key signature id D!.

Flats:
For every key signature with flats, the major key is the second to the last flat in the key signature!. The (non) exception is the key of F, which only has one flat (Bb) !.!.!. but if you follow all the way around the circle of fifths, you'll find that the key is the fifth above the last flat!. A fifth above Bb is (lo, and behold) F!.

Relative minors keys are a third below the Major keys!.
E!. G!.
A minor shares the key signature with C Major
F#m shares the same key signature with A Major
Eb minor shares the same key signature with Gb

!.!.!. You'll find most early guitar music will be in the keys of G, D, A and E!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm not quite sure what you're asking, but let me try!. If you know what key a piece of music is in and you're trying to figure out how to "indicate it" (from your first sentence), use the following:

If the key is F, the key signature has Bb
If the key is Bb, the key signature has Bb, Eb
If the key is Eb, the key signature has Bb, Eb, Ab
If the key is Ab, the key signature has Bb, Eb, Ab, Db
If the key is Db, the key signature has Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb
If the key is Gb, the key signature has Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Cb

If the key is C, the key signature has nothing
If the key is G, the key signature has F#
If the key is D, the key signature has F#, C#
If the key is A, the key signature has F#, C#, G#
If the key is E, the key signature has F#, C#, G#, D#
If the key is B, the key signature has F#, C#, G#, D#, A#
