Question: On a drum kit, why two crash cymbals!? please explain!.!?
so most drum kits have two crash cymbals!. are they different sizes for different sounds!? how do the sounds compare bigger to smaller crash cymbals!? and what is a good pair of crash cymbals!? (That is, for example, say, a 20 in!. and a 14 in!.)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yea, you would have two crash cymbals to get two different sounds!. Although it's more likely you are seeing a drum kit with one crash symbol, and one ride symbol!. A ride symbol is pretty big (usually around 20 inches) and its used to keep a beat on (similar to the high hat), although you can crash it too for a more monstrous sound!.

You definately want a ride and a crash before you get two crashes, but if you're looking to buy cymbals, look at the Sabian B8 starter pack, it comes with hi-hats a ride and a crash, that will be enough to get you going!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The other guy was right!. More crashes, more sounds!. I have three crash cymbals, and I plan on getting another!. It really boils down to personal preference, but I like 14, 16 and 18 inch crashes best!. 20s tend to get kind of gong-ish!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
