Answers:
Tough choice for me,as they're both from entirely different era's of rock history, and parts of my life!. When 'Heroin' was first released in '67, I was in high school!. At that time I was blown away by the song, and the album from which it came!. Mostly because that style of experimental/avant-garde music was relatively new at the time, and during the late 60's I was always experimenting with many bands, not to mention other things as well!.!.!.if you know what I mean!. So my impression of that song now, compared to when I first heard it over 40 years ago isn't going to be the same!. Let's just say I don't get terribly excited when I hear it anymore!.!.!.been there done that!.
Though I still really enjoy Lou Reeds 13 minute live version of 'Heroin' off his 'Rock n Roll Animal' album released in 1974!. Even though the two versions are very different from one another, that rendition still holds my interest when it's playing!.

I also love David Bowie's 'Heroes', mainly because during the 70's I was a huge Krautrock fan (still am actually)!. Davids inspiration for that song came from the German band Neu! and a song they had released titled 'Hero', which can be found on their 1975 album 'Neu! 75'!.
I was a huge Bowie fan in the very early 70's, but lost interest around 1974 with his Live album, and 'Young Americans'!. That phase of his career did nothing for me!. Then I heard 'Diamond Dogs', and gave the guy a second chance!. I remember reading in either Cream or Rolling Stone magazine, that David had a fondness for experimental 70's Krautrock bands like Cluster, Harmonia, Amon Duul II, and Neu!.!.!.to name a few!. Seeing that I was a huge fan of these bands, I delved a little deeper, and bought the 'Heroes' album, and I loved it! I found myself becoming a Bowie fan all over again, and it was great!
So then I went out and bought 'Low' and 'Station To Station' (which were his previous albums)!.To this day, those three albums are in my opinion the best thing he ever did after his Ziggy/Aladdin Sane days!.

So!.!.!.this is a difficult decision, but I'd have to say I like Heroes a little more!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I have liked Bowie's work since I was a teen!.
He has been avantgarde enough to be always different, modern and intense, but also mainstream enough to keep it funky and groovy!.
His voice is unique, his strange and extraterrestrial gaze gives me the shivers!. I would certainly practice a DNA analysis to be sure he is human !!! LOL

Heroes is one of my fave Bowie albums and I know it is cliche but the song Heroes is just beautiful and it is one of the top counted in my Ipod!.

Velvet Underground!? Hmmmmm nothing special for me I must say!. Musical taste is so subjective and personal!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Heroin,by far!.I'm a very big Bowie fan,but you have to give it to the atmosphere, the enigmatic rock n' roll lyrics and the epic feeling of "Heroin"!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
