Guitar chord notation question whats A/B?!
Question: Guitar chord notation question whats A/B!?
i understand most short hand notation for guitar chords like C M = C Major and Cm = Cminor etc etc but when someone writes a chord like C/E or A/B what chord are they trying to say!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
Answers:
The note to the right of the slash tells you what note to put in the bass!. So, C/E is a C major chord with an E in the bass (1st inversion C major chord)!.
A/B is an A major chord (A-C#-E) with a B in the bass!. (This is also a common shorthand for a B11 chord)Www@Enter-QA@Com

A chord, B in the Bass (this would sound ugly and unresolved)
C chord, E in the Bass (having the third in the bass makes sense musically within a progression)Www@Enter-QA@Com
