im thinking of buying one of those gripmaster gadgets to improve finger strength for guitar!.

It's a good thing for sure !.!.!. but not too much at time!.!.!. take some time between use!.!.!.
I've been stupid by playing (exercising) by walking back home (45 minutes!.!.!.) the next day I was unable to play correctly ( too much muscle fatigue and pain)!.!.!.
Now I use it 5 to 15 minutes a day!.!.!. not more
If it's a useful tool!.!.!. I will say yes, it will not give you more playing speed but more strength!.!.!. depending on what strings gauge you are playing it will help on bends!.!.!.
If you want to buy one!.!.!. I suggest to begin with the ''extra-light'' one (after we are playing guitar!.!.!. We need more endurance than real strength !)
