Song help? repeats line once, then twice, then four times?!

i was listening to the radio a little while back and there was a really good song on and i want it!.

i cant remember the lyrics or anything, i know, helpful, right!?

all i can remember is the chorus repeats the line once, plays some music/sings some more words, plays the line twice in a row, plays some music/other lyrics, then plays the line four times

i'm 85% sure it was a classic rock song if that helps at all

if you have any ideas, please give me the song name and artist so i can check for myself
