The RAM can be easily upgraded to 4GB in both the MacBook and MacBook Pro!. The HDD can easily be upgraded in the MacBook, but not MacBook Pro!.
If you're serious about music, you quite simply have to get a Mac!. Along with photography, video production, graphics/print and web programming, all the professionals use OS X!.
