Is Blues music dead?!

Question: Is Blues music dead!?
In my opinion, it is!. In the 50's and 60's there were such good bands like Govt Mule, Muddy Waters, Paul Butterfield, Gladys Knight, Howlin' Wolf, Stevie Ray Vaughan(80's), and I bet 90% of people uder 30 today have never even heard of any of these bands!. Music nowadays has gone completely down the crapper with a few exceptions!. What's your opinion!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Same could be said about the 50s and 60s- nobody then knew about Muddy Waters, Brownie McGhee & Sonny Terry, Rev!. Gary Davis or Big Bill Broonzy!. Blues has always existed in the clubs, with a few festivals to boot, and has a static core of fans: as us old guys die off, young 'uns pick up on it!.

I hate to nitpick but Gladys Knight is a soul singer, Government Mule was formed in the 1990s by replacement members of the Allman Brothers and Paul Butterfield is better known for the stars the group spawned, like Mike Bloomfield, Elvin Bishop and David Sanborn!.

This is a very human thing!. Everyone's generation had better music!. Just ask my mother, who came of age in the late 1930s!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Blues music is not dead! it' hasn't even been 'sick'!.
It's changed with the times and with newer artists!.
Look at artists like Eric Clapton or John Mayer!. They are two of the best blues musicians around today, but their styles are their own!.
Remember: Blues is one of the roots of our ocuntry's music heritage!. From the early 20th century when artists used acoustic guitars to the newer electric guitars now, listen!. Then listen some more!
Blues hasn't changed!. The blues scales are exactly what they have been for a hundred years! Blues is played from the heart and soul of the musician!.
Gladys Knight is a popular artist, but she's not strictly a Blues artist!. SRV was a true blues man as was Muddy Waters!. Listen to them!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Depends on what kind of blues you're looking for too!. The Big Organ Trio is organ blues (which isn't slow and steady, of course)!.
