Question: Why is there some much chatter about a dead rapper!?
Tupac!. Seriously, that cat was not a dope rapper!. His lyrics were average, and he got lucky on a few hot beats, but overall!.!.!.he was just another face in the crowd!. So Tupac fans, please inform me on how this man is considered great and what exactly did he do for the black community besides promote thug life!?

First of all you are entitled to your opinion!. Second of all you must have some big balls to post a question like this lol!. Finally I agree with you, and disagree with you!. Let me explain!.
Tupac was not even close to being the best lyricist in the game, he readily admitted this!. He did claim to be the "realest" rapper in the game and he had every right to make that claim whether if it was true or not!. I think he had the perfect mixture of street awareness and black consciousness that the industry has struggled to find since his untimely death in 1996!. I think music and art is about "feeling" and being able to relate to an artists' work!. No MC in history can even come close to Tupac in that area, so in a sense he was the best MC, just not the best lyricist!. People like John Lennon and Tupac transcended music and became something greater not just as a result of their work, but because their personalities and charisma touched people of so many demographics!. If you hold a greater importance on lyricism than overall influence then that's your choice, but I choose to look at the overall package that includes much more then an MC's rhyming ability!. What did Pac do for the black community I'm curious!.!.!.This seems to be the biggest argument but whenever I bring up the FACT that a indie artist started a health care program for underground artists it's a footnote in comparison!.!.!.Most of Pac's album sales are after death and as with any artist most hop the bandwagon with all the hype surrounding the dead figure, in this case it's Pac!.!. because unlike other rappers tupac's music has so much SOUL and compassion!. nas is always rapping on his tracks as if he's bored, his lyrics have soul but his voice doesnt!. when tupac's on a track you can literally feel yourself get lost in his songs, he just creates the feeling!.
