Jimi Hendrix himself said that he was (in effect) over-rated!.!.!.(before he died, not from the grave) He said something to the effect of there were a lot of much better guitar players than him in the world!.!.!.one of the ones he mentioned was at the time a pretty young kid that ended up being pretty big in the Christian Music scene!.!.!.can't think of the name!.!.!.
I think the better question is who do you think is under-rated, because there are a lot of people out there getting credit where none is due (basically musicians in general in the past 15 years)!.!.!.
It's kind of disappointing because there is no innovation anymore, and if there is, it is shut down by people who would rather listen to songs about "my humps" than to decent music!.!.!.

Like the 1st reply- he did kickstart a new playing style!. The guitar was his whole being & soul!. No rock player played w/ such style before him!.

Trust me, I'm FULLY aware of how brilliant he is, but I do think he's slightly overrated!. Only slightly, because he was genius, but people make him seem godly!.

Innovative!? Legendary!? Absolutely!. Technically a great guitarist!? Not really!. Like most artists his legend grows over time after death!. He changed music, but IMO he was not as great as he is made out to be!. Just my opinion!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
