What year did mainstream hip hop started to decline?!

Question: What year did mainstream hip hop started to decline!?
Answers:
I would say a cliff drop happened in 2003, when Eminem and Dr!. Dre went pop!.!.!. hell, even Method Man performed with P!. Diddy during that time period (the Wu-Tang legend regrets it, now!. He even called out Diddy on stage for not including him on the Biggie Duets album, given that he was the only outside artist featured on Ready to Die)!. However, Dr!. Dre was known for his work with relatively talented emcees (see: Chronic 2001) He started working with artists like 50 Cent and G-Unit around 2003!. It has been falling out since the death of Biggie Smalls, but hadn't really stopped dead until this happened!.!.!. even NAS worked with Diddy on that one track!. Heh, it was a pretty low time for the face of true hip-hop! Southern influence also helped along the steady decline!. Meanwhile, on the eastside, Timbaland's entrance into the game was also a falling point for the game, considering that he took RZA's position in the mainstream!.!.!. and, couldn't even produce a single beat that could touch the work of early Wu-Tang albums!. Actually, the artist (ha!) formerly known as Puff Daddy should also be placed with at least 60% of the blame (if not more) for making a profit off Biggie's death!.!.!. then, industrializing the entire game!. Ever since then, it's been -- well, "all about the benjamins!."Www@Enter-QA@Com

I would say after Biggie's death (1997)!. Puff Daddy (as he was known at the time) started to make hip hop a more business-oriented industry!. He started mingling with famous people, and the musical aspect of hip hop started to decline!. I don't hate people that make their money, but I feel because of him (amongst other people) alot of rappers used hip hop as a "jump off" to bigger things!. Alot of rappers are starting to venture to other things like marketing, acting, etc, while at the the same time putting less effort in their music!. I don't think you'll get a definite answer, but I would say you would get a better answer from someone that has evolved with hip hop from it's early years!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

1995!. original hip hop practically died!. the 4 elements of hip hop breaking, tagging, freestyling, and djing soon reduced to just freestyling!. somewhere along the line people began to call all black music either hip hop or r&b!. which is not true

there is a fine line between, hip hop, funk, and rap!.

today's music is pure modern days "funk" not hip hop!

oh, and eminem's music was not "hip hop"!. it was "rap"Www@Enter-QA@Com

Im not as dramatic as those above me!. I stopped listening to the radio in about 2003!. I just get irritated when I hear all this whack songs!. Now days if you can lip sinc and put a good beat together you got it made!. I should become a hip pop star!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'de say about 2 years ago!. Everything is turning into electric beats, with lip syncing voices!. The old school beats, and real-voiced artists are just all becoming mainstream!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

1997!.!.!. it started with Master P!., Lil' Wayne, Lil' John & The Eastside Boyz!. Then in 2000 with Nelly, then Three-Six Mafia!.!.!. and it's been down hill ever since!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The late 90's when Missy and Timbeland got into the game!. I'm not blaming them totally, but it was around that time!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
