Some would say the Puffy and Mase shiny suit era, but I would say year 2000 when Cash Money blew up!. Puffy an Mase might have ushered in the bling bling era, but noone can doubt the flow and skill Mase had in his prime!. When Cash Money came in with the wobbedy wobbedy bling bling it like it's hot joints, record execs realized how much they could capitalize off of the pop tart hits from the south!. Not all southern rap is commercial and one hit wonders but a majority of them are!. And the problem with alot of music coming from the south is there is no lyrical content whatsoever!. All they need is a beat and a sing along or crunkalong hook, lyrics ain't important!. I'm from Ny and I don't know how it's like for yall from other regions but alot of the Down South joints soundlike cavemen rappin'!. What's really sad is I was channel surfin the other day and stopped on Bet and 3 people were complaining during the 106 an Park karaoke competition that they didn't know the raps to the songs and weren't given enough time for the hook to come in!. Back in the day ****** rapped along to joints by Biggie, you don't see that now!. I don't know how people can defend the south as if Hip Hop aint dying because of the majority of music coming from there!. The songs have no original witty lyrics whatsoever!. It's like eating a subway sandwich without the meat in it!. Or better yet, orderin a subway sandwich that got tasty little toppings and a lil' bit of that southwestern chipotle sauce but usin baloney as the meats!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

They stopped looking for lyrics and meaning and just picked up cds that had a good beat to dance to!. Hip Hop is hurting because kids don't seem to care what they listen to anymore!.
