its all a matter of opinion!. some people think they sold out!. some people think they matured!. personally, i think every one of their albums since black album has gotten WAY too much criticism mainly b/c people got the Metallica CD, expecting thrash metal, not progressive rock!. in my opinion, if they really wanted to "sell out" they would've stopped making CD's, given Guitar Hero the right to make a Metallica game and then retire on all the money we know they already have!. I will probably preview the new album before i buy it because it has been a long time since they made an album i liked!. The truth is, they probably never enjoyed playing metal that much (metal was more popular in the 80's) so when they became rich they just decided to play what they wanted, which happens to be country and rock unfortunately!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
They sold out a long long time ago!. The cut Mustaine to make their A&R guys and Brian Slagel happy!. When you do that you have sold out!. However, that does not mean they are not talented or did not do good music if you like their style!. It just means they would and will do whatever their label wanted or wants them to do, to keep the label pushing their music!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
Yeah they have sold out a bit and I think that it is pretty obvious and I'm sick of all the questions and comments about it; lets just all get over it!. At least they still have kick *** bands touring w/them!! I mean Lamb of God!!!?!? People have been saying Metallica sold out when they did the Video for One!. Their very first video!. Once that video was aired, the Hardcore Metallica Followers said they sold out!. So it's nothing new!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
