Metal bass guitar? Using a pick?!
Question: Metal bass guitar!? Using a pick!?
I'm not a bassist myself but i own one and my mate is interested in becoming a bassist and we're going to start up a metal band!. As he's never played before and every1 else is quite expirienced, should he use a pick/plectrum, whatever you want 2 call it!?
I see alot of people's bass covers on youtube are downgraded and mocked because they use picks, although i am aware that bands such as as i lay dying have their bassist use a pick!. I know there is a lot more skill in using your fingers, but you can go 10x fatsre with a pick and its easier for begginers, isnt it!? Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm not a bassist, I'm a guitarist but I see your dilemma, I'd say do what feels and sounds best, fingerstyle is a good thing to learn for bass because you get a different tone and less mockery but in the context of your band and genre it only matters what technique works best for the bassist!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
