Question: Why cant i play my guitar and sing at the same time!?
Well, i just got my guitar a month ago!. And im doing pretty good with the learning part!. But when i play the acoustic versions of songs and try to sing at the same time, something goes wrong!. Like if i concentrate too much on my singing, my strumming is off beat!. Same vice versa!. For some reason, i just cant seem to do both at the same time!.!.!.!. help!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's a very interesting question!. Not just you, everyone whoever learn guitar first time, he/she has problem of singing and playing guitar together!. I have been playing guitar for 2 years and still sometimes I feel problem!. Don't worry, it happens to everyone!. Try to concentrate on "both!." I know it's hard but just keep practicing!. And yea, if you are singing and also playing guitar, just play the normal rhythm!. Don't try to play advanced first time!. When you will be an expert, then you can!. Now, you could do one thing!. You sing and play normal rhythm, and tell someone to play some riff or advanced chords or advanced strum patterns for you!. That will sound really good and that's how you can also practice how sing and play guitar together!. If you need, I can give you a web-site,

A lot of players (including myself) need to play a song until its second nature before they can sing with it!. Just keep practicing one or two songs until you're really awesome, then you can try to start singing!. If you still can't, practice the song some more!

you just need more practice and basically theirs no trick to it, you just have to be able to in a sense split your hands from your voice which is hard but it does help to know the guitar part by pure memory and not have t think about it, yet there is always that unconcious part that screws you up, its like the pat ur head rub ur tummy thingWww@Enter-QA@Com
Well it might be because you are actually focused on playing the guitar so well that you lose track of how well you sing!. I would just loosen up a bit and try to focus both of them equally!. =)
