No!.!.!.but kinda yes!. If an emcee is part of a traditional hip hop group, I'd have to say no!. For GOAT consideration he needs to have dropped at least one classic/near classic album which he is almost solely responsible for the lyrical production!. I think that Andre Benjamin is one of the greatest ever but he doesn't rank in terms of GOAT because he's never dropped a solo album!. The Love Below doesn't count because it wasn't really a solo album and it wasn't really hip hop!. So as far as that goes, no!.
On the other and you have groups that consist of one emcee and one DJ/producer!. Guys like Rakim or Kool G Rap!. Or, as pointed out, someone like Black Thought who is part of a group but is still almost solely responsible for the lyrics!. In cases like that, then being in a group doesn't affect their GOAT considerations!.
That being said, there aren't that many emcees that I think would qualify for this!. Other than Andre and Posdnuos, the only one's that might deserve discussion would be Chali2na and Fatlip (who actually released a solo but would need to release a higher quality one for GOAT considerations)!. Maybe Treach as a long shot!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think it's possible theoretically!. Look at say a Ma$e or a Canibus!. These guys had an exceptional buzz with equal talent and ability before their respective solos dropped!. I think they both had the potential early on to be GOATs, they were just victims of circumstance!. Not to mention I have no Major solo release and I am obviously one of the best to ever do it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Probably not!. Posdnous ranks 3rd on my list behind Rakim and Kool G Rap, but I think if he ever releases a good solo album, he might jump up to #1!. Without proving that he can make it on his own, I can't called him the GOAT though!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I think to be considered the best rapper alive, you should be able to carry an entire album on your own!. If you have to share space with other rappers, you shouldn't be considered the GOAT!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I would say yes, but the group member would have to have a GOAT quality solo career as well, it doesnt necessarily have to be as extensive as most solo artists careers but it needs to exist!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I don't think so, if they have no solo albums!. because a lot of time when artists are in groups they work with other members in writing and all of that, so it is hard to judge if they really have GOAT potential!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
