Question: Electric guitar or bass
my mom wants me 2 start a rock band with my friends and they think its a great idea!. but i want to play a string intrument, wat would be better!? an electric guitar or a bass guitar!? we also want to have like a violin in the band!? i think thats a great idea! but wat do u think!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

well if u want to make a band very quick i do suggest bass!. all it is is the main note on each chord or note(s) that u are playing!. therefore u can just get like a guitar player that already knows how to play and can show u the notees to play on bass!. if u want to take i slow then a guitar is a great instument to learn! i myself have been playing for 8-9 years and i love it!.
as for the violin!. SURE! anything u can add is always great!. any more questions feel free to e-mail me!

as a girl i think that having a violin is an excellent idea, but really it depends on what kind of music youre interested in playing!.
theres a lot of cool rock bands who have violins, for instance yellowcard!.
it really depends though - guitar or bass!.
i play guitar and i love it, though it can be frustrating at times and takes a long time to get it right when you first start!.
and bass can be pretty easy, if its a simple song of course!.
you might think its a waste of time but if i were you i would head on down to the local music store!. ask them what they think, because it really depends on what style rock music you want!.

If you can play neither, don't start that band until you can play one or the other in a few years!.
Pick one at random, or based on which you can get the best teacher for, or which looks nicest to you in a store, or whatever!.

Well depends which position is vacant!. If both are, it depends on what you want!. The bass isn't as demanding and isn't so much of a main part when compared to the guitar!. The guitar requires more skill and practice but it pays off when you can shred up sweet guitar solos!. It depends on what you and your mates want!. As for the violin, I suppose it can work in some rock bands, you just have to experiment and see what you think!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
if you want to be like yellow card!.!. they are the only band that can pull violin off in rock and have it sound good!.
well think of it this way!.
bass- its a lot easier to play and takes much less time to learn although perfecting your style is very hard!. the only reason it takes so much less time to learn is there isn't chords until you get really technical and there is only four strings, plus you don't have to worry about learning how to solo!.
guitar- it takes a lot more time and patience, its not something you get good at in a couple hours it takes much dedication and a lot of effort!. but style is a lot easier to learn and perfect because you have to spend so much more time!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

First off, a violin is what made and makes Yellowcard great!. Second, Bass guitar is so much better and more rewarding!. You have to hold down the strings tighter (so it doesn't vibrate too much against the spine) giving more dexterity to your fingers!. and if you get real good, any sweet bass line is better then most guitar solos(except free bird) Oh and one last thing!.!.!.if it can be avioded, don't use a pick with a Bass, i think it's insulting and your fingers are much faster!. good luck! BASS! all the way! The bass is the best instrument ever!. The bass line is one of THE most important parts of a song!. Violin would be a great idea! Violin is part of what makes Yellowcard such a good band- it makes them unique in a lot of ways!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
first try to learn the basics in the instruments which ever u are interested in and then take classes from a qualilfied teacher, practice the taught lessons everday for 2 hours without fail then everything will be easy to learn
