Question: 80s hair metal vs todays metal!?

Why!?
Well, for me it's because back then, the metal sound was pretty much "new" and "fresh"!. But with the modern stuff, it all just sounds the same!. The modern stuff sounds too much like old stuff, which makes it boring to me!.
Even though I can think of a few exceptions, most modern metal is either boring, or even worse, took metal in a bad direction (listen to the stuff coming out of Scandanavia right now where they mix metal sounds with female sopranos singing like in opera; now THAT is really, really, REALLY bad!)!.
Anyway, I think metal pretty much reached it's peak back in the 80's and either hasn't evolved since then, or (in the case of those Scandanavian bands) has evolved in a very wrong direction!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Today's metal!. I don't like 80's hair metal, and I don't enjoy 80's metal nearly as much as I do today's metal!. My favorite genre is Melodic Death Metal and well that wasn't around in the 80's =P

80s Thrash is 1,000,000x better than 80s hair metal, so I think it would have been a better contest if you chose 80s thrash vs!. today's metal!.

Today's metal, we have a better diverse of metal today than Bon Jovi, poison, warrant, quite riot, and stuff like that cause they all focused on theme of music which was nothing but cash and getting laid!. Today's metal like Children of bodom, Dethklok, Behemoth, would school hair metal!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I still think that 80s hair metal wins because those guys were able to pack the stadiums!. When I see stadiums being packed by today's metal artists then I will hand the baton over to them!. Today's metal sound is very diverse and interesting but it does not have the same mass appeal that Guns N Roses or Bon Jovi had!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
