Question: Does this sound like a good idea
Would it be a good idea for me to use a regular acoustic guitar as a bass (tune it, remove 2 strings, etc!.) for practice until I can afford an actual bass guitar!. The acoustic is my brothers but he never uses it, he has it sitting in his closet, and it almost sounds like a bass by how out of tune it is!. It may be a better idea to leave the other strings there (I think the bottom two are broken if I think about it), if they are there!.

you do not have to tune it down at all!.
Just pretend it is a bass and get your fingering down and do your scales and so forth!.
You do not have to drop tune it!. When you get your bass, you will have already gotten off to a great start!. Just leave it as a guitar and use the lowest four strings and practice!.

If you can tune it down, then it would be nice just for practicing!. Bass strings are much thicker than guitar strings, so just keep that in mind when playing!.
also, make sure your brother won't freak out if he finds out (or just replace the strings when you get a bass and he'll never know)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i don't think so man it doesn't just work that way you need to buy actual bass strings unless you just practice fingering and such but even them it's not the same feeling i would suggest either just saving for a bass or have someone at like dietz help you buy bass strings and fit them in the screwsWww@Enter-QA@Com

Yeah, that would be okay, or if the other two strings are on there just use it as a guitar!. lol Just go to Ultimate-guitar!.com and learn some bass and guitar tabs!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
