Question: Would anyone be willing to help explain to me how to play guitar!?
I've been trying to learn for over a year now, and I've tried learning to read tablature, but I couldn't figure it out even though it looked easy and I've tried books and everything, but I can't take lessons because they are expensive!. My cousin tried to teach me, but he just kept getting frustrated with me :l
Sooo I was just wondering if anyone could try and explain to me how to read tablature/chords/just play in general!? Any tips would help!.

Well, I'll give it a shot at least! When you look at tabs online, the six lines represent the six strings on a guitar!. The bottom one typicaly represents the low, or fat string on the guitar!. When there is a number on a particular string, that means that you put your finger on that string on that particular fret!. For example: the bottom line has a 3 on it; the next one up has a 2 on it; there's nothing on the next three and then the top line has a 3 on it!. So if you put your fingers on the corresponding numbers and strings (I would try your index finger on the 2, your middle finger on the low 3 and your ring finger on the high 3!. Now when you strum, you will have played the G chord!. Surprise!!, you're making music!. If you want to try it, the site www!.ultimate-guitar!.com has free lessons on there for beginners!. I taught myself to play also!. I've been at it for about 1 1/2 years now!. I can play quite a variety of songs!. Like everyone says, Practice, Practice, Practice!. That's what gets you there!. If after some more frustrating trials, perhaps it's time to try another instrument!. Or if all else fails!.!.!.!.play the radio!! But seriously, some people just aren't cut out to play the guitar!. try to learn basic chords!. that seems to be the easiest way to start!. then try to make up your own songs!. just play!. learning other peoples songs can be very frustrating at first!. dont give up!!
