Answers:
I think he is underrated period!. Just listen to the album "All things must pass" it is genius!.
And, yes underrated as a guitar player as well!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

yeah, I think that John Lennon shadowed him because he was all in the public eye, and was the singer (singer always gets the most attention from the public)!. Paul McCartney was singin it up too, but he didnt get as much attention as John Lennon for a long while!.

A lot of his stuff was definitely not easy to play, but besides being a great guitarist, he also wrote lyrics too!. and we all know the beatles had a way with words!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think George Harrison is about the most appropriately-rated guitarist coming from the most appropriately-rated band in history!.

That's not entirely my original thought - Spin magazine had a story back in 1999 (when i was in college - yikes!) about "The 10 Most Rated Bands of All Time" - bands that were neither under- nor over-rated!.

Thing is, Harrison's guitar work doesn't get a lot of attention because it's not really meant to!. That's the problem with star mentality!. You can have excellent guitarists (Sonny Mayo, Clint Lowery, Mark Tremonti, Stone Gossard, Matt Dudenhoeffer) who play WITH the band and support their bandmates in harmony, rhythm and melody, but they don't stand out because they aren't soloists like Buckethead, Slash, or Stevie Ray Vaughn!.

It's like teamwork versus stardom!. If you'll remember "Any Given Sunday", it was a central conflict in the film!.

That was random, but I randomly remembered the guy who got his eye punched out in the film!. Yech!.

Hope that helps!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think he's VERY underrated!.

I think he has some amazing skills, but he usually gets tossed off to the side because of his "shy image", and not really wanting to be in the public eye!.

The Beatles would have been nothing without him!

But the Beatles would have been nothing without the Paul, John, or Ringo either!.

It's the 4 parts that make up the whole!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

no!. there's a reason George Martin often utilized session musicians during the course of Beatles recordings, and it sure as hell wasn't due to George's or the others' virtuosic abilities (or lack thereof, methinks)!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

He was a Beatle so I suppose he's recognised as a great musician but of course a bit overshadowed by Lennon and McCartney!.

My Sweet Lord is proof of a simple yet so effective riff!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

it would make up for the beatles being SO overrated!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
