yes, if babies and young children listen to it, it will make them smarter when they grow older!. that's been scientifically proven!.!.!.something having to do with a part of your brain starts working early!.
Older people, not so much!. If you listen to it while you study/read it will help you concentrate, which kinda makes you smarter!.

Mozart improves your memory with it's tempo!. It might not raise your IQ but Mozart and Handel have made songs for kings to improve their memory (Handel was asked to make a song to improve the king's failing memory and it worked)
The tempo makes your Alpha and Beta (I'm not sure if it's Beta) waves match, and thus you memorize at a faster rate!.

This is an "old chestnut" on the classical music forum!. The answer is no, of course not!. If that were true, we'd force our politicians to listen to it!.
The theory is typical example of poor research and even poorer logic!. You know!.!.!. people who listen to Mozart are smart, so therefore they must be smart from listening to Mozart!. Never mind the possibility that they were smart before they ever heard Mozart!.

not altogether!.!.classical music is associated with the clientel that is of higher education!. like, for the most part, country music is the voice of blue collar worker!.!.!.!.
however, mozart is used in music therapy!. if you are stressed out like most of us, mozart used melodic continous lines that were 'flowy' if you will!. there wasnt jagged robust chords like beethoven!. the melody is used to give you a continuity of relaxation!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
