Okay well I'm a big fan of most rock music, not the metal screamo ones but the rest I do like!. And my boyfriend on the other hand thinks that Rock is going to die before Rap although most Rap songs from like 05 and 06 are kinda dead already like the "Lean wit it Rock wit it", "Shoulder Lean" , "Laffy Taffy" etc!.!.!.
So what genre do you guys think is going to last longer!? :D

Rock!. It's started earlier, has thrived longer, and will out last hip hop and I don't really like rock too much!. But the truth is that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Personally, i doubt that either will die very soon!.
However, Hip Hop music is much more versatile than Rock music is!. Rock requires a specific set of instruments!. Hip Hop, on the other hand, can be produced using a wide range of sounds, from violins to congos, claves, bass, drums, whatever you can imagine, it can be done with hip hop!.
Both genres have widespread appeal, but hip hop is unique in that many different cultures have taken hip hop and merged it with their own local musical traditions, and in doing so have created new sounds!.

here the hip hop artists of guadeloupe have merged rap vocals with the local zouk music, bridging the gap between old and new generation

for this reason, i think hip hop will outlast rock!.!.!.just because hip hop can be merged with amost every musical style!. Sure, the one hit wonders will come and go, as with every musical genre!. But the true classics will never die!. Come to Queens, NY and play "Shook Ones" madd loud, and you'll see people in their teens and people in their 30's mouthin tha lyrics!. Come to bed-stuy or bushwick and play "juicy", everyone knows the lyrics!. The commerical bullshit will come and go, but true hip hop will live on!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think that if you investigate more metal, r&R type bands are actually incorporating some type of rap into their lyrical genre!.!. take Lincoln Park for instance!. METAL ALL THE WAY WILL NEVER DIE!!!!!!!! Its usually a bunch of hippies gone wild so when we are not moshin or slingin are hair!.!.!.!. we just chill and play djembes and bongos and hug and all that free loving stuff!!!! heheh!!! GO HIPPIES!!!
