If you want to talk about writing TO the words, Orff certainly has it, hands down!.
Mozart's music is usually exquisitely beautiful, marvelously well crafted fluff!. No surprise there, since that's what he was generally paid to do!.
His music seems usually to be absolute music, and for those who just want music, that's terrific!. The Requiem is wonderful music, but (although there are some exceptions) it doesn't seem to be written to the text!. That puts me off!. For much of it, he might as well have set the words from a phone book!. The music, wonderful as it is, has little relationship to the text!.
I sang Mozart's Requiem, and didn't particularly enjoy it for that reason!. I doubt that I will ever sing it again unless someone really begs me!.
Now, Orff's _Carmina_Burana_ (of which your selection is only one small section) -- that I will sing again -- in a heart-beat!!!!!
Brahms' Requiem is a great example of someone writing TO the text!. In other words, it really makes a difference what the words are!. The Brahms is a BEAR to sing, but I'd sing it again in a heart-beat!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

For me, Requiem is a piece of inner reflection while O′Fortuna is the liberation of a dormant desire!.

Mozart's Requiem every time (O' Fortuna scares me because they always use parts of it in scary films!)
