What does this music term mean? Please help, especially violin players!?!

Question: What does this music term mean!? Please help, especially violin players!!?
tutto il pezzo sulla IVa

Notes:
- the "a" after the IV is little, underlined, and up in the air
- I'm guessing the IV has to do with playing on the g string
- If it helps, I'm playing Mendelssohn's Song without Words op!. 62 No!.1 transcribed by Fritz KreislerWww@Enter-QA@Com

Ok!.!.!.!.from my understanding

tutto means all
sulla IVa means play on G-string

I'm not sure what il pezzo means, but I have a feeling it may mean notes!. So, All the notes are to be played on the G-string!.!.!.

Effectively its a drawn out was of saying Sul G!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

hi, the IVa stands for "quarta" and is means that you have to play that part of the piece on the fourth string, so you're right, on the G string!. (in other scores you can meet this expression: "sul G"- "on the G"!. This means the same!.)
If I'm right, the G string is generally (or WAS generally) made of an other material than the other ones, so playing only on the G gives a warmer sound!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't know, what the other people are saying sounds right!.
I just wanted to say that I listened to most of it but couldn't listen to it all because it sounds like something that would be playing in the background of a movie where something fairly tragic was going on and I didn't want to think about something like that!. Its good at what it is though!. Whatever it is!. :PWww@Enter-QA@Com

I think you're right; I think everything's played on the G string!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
