How come no one respects music anymore?!

Question: How come no one respects music anymore!?
I'm tired of hearing everyone say that they "hate" certain groups, certain singers and certain styles of music!.!.!.

it really seems like everyone claims they LOVE music, yet they only love one type of music!.!.!.and hate everything else!.!.!.

I dont know about you, but even if i don't like a certain music form, or artist, i still appreciate that they are all stretching out to the same thing: Music!.!.!.
and even if i don't respect them, i respect the thought behind their attempt at entertaining people!.!.!.

Can anyone tell me why people do this!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Some of us spend most of our time analyzing one kind of music!. We do it to a point such that we try to apply the same standards to other music we don't often listen to!. Under this filter, it is impossible to appreciate other music to their fullest extent!. we have to make separate standards for each music, and that is actually difficult to do!. The first kind of music I liked in particular was rock/metal, and I still like it even though my focus now is on EDM!. While I still do respect other artists, I have trouble formulating good standards for those genres!. For example, if I listen to rock with EDM standards in mind, I'd focus more on the instruments rather than the lyrics!. I'd probably judge the artist by creativity in sound design, and be less inclined to evaluate the lyrics!. But in rock music, the lyrics are essential elements of a song, and there are rarely novel, synthesized instruments used!. So overall, it depends on the angle at which you view the music!. We all come from different perspectives, and we'd be more inclined to lean towards the music we understand most!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I know what you mean!. I dislike rap, but only because it's not for me!. I know there's good rap out there!. Same thing goes with country!. (I know I said rape LOL)

I also hate when people go "Yeah I think ALL genres deserve to be respected!. Oh, except [genrehere] of course!. They suck!."

Whaaaaa!? Hypocrites!.

Edit:
Within Temptation is awesome, to the person above me!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

To me, it's more of the motivation behind the music!. On one hand you have an artist who loves making music and it just so happens that a lot of people dig his/her stuff enough to get big and famous!. On the other hand, you have people trying to cash in on the most recent fads and going into the business just to make money!. Led Zeppelin were musical geniuses that got famous because listeners could hear their talent first hand, and had a real respect for what Jimmy Page could do on the guitar or JPJ could do on his bass!. They didn't give a crap about what people thought about their music, they made it because they wanted to!. Can anyone sit there and say with a straight face that soulja boy put HALF as much into making "Crank That" as Led put into "Stairway to Heaven"!? There's a cookie cutter template that we have in America that pop musicians (including rock & rap) that is a pretty much gaurantee cash-in!. That's why so many Top 40 songs sound pretty much the same, with little variation, and explains why you can find someone like T-Pain on every other track out there!.

Good music is a deep emotional process and if you're lucky, it will have some monetary rewards!. But too many mainstream artists skip that first half and go straight for money!. They're better off playing football or something!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
